Meet the Team

Jenna Brugman

Although I grew up in a small town I always had big dreams, one of which was to own my own business. Hair2Go was 14 years in the making, but the wait was well worth it.

I completed my studies at the Carlton hair, where I went on to work for them for 8 years. After Carlton I began working at Blo hairdressing salon. I am lucky to have formed an established clientele, some of which include several celebrities. In early 2018, I was chosen to take part in the L’Oréal Colour Hair Competition consisting of 10 of the top hair stylists.

I have been fortunate to have worked on cover shoots for magazines, be part of SA fashion week and part of the creative team that was responsible for hairstyling for the MNET production galaxy of stars.

I currently specialize in colour and colour correction, weddings and special events. I love making people see their inner beauty and that’s why I became a Hair Stylist.

Gareth Johnston

I started my hairdressing career in 1992 with the Dave & Johan Group of salons. During which time I gained experience as salon manager and head of training and education.
I was involved in numerous launches and training seminars for L’Oréal, as well as participating in the L’Oréal colour trophy finals.

In 2006 I co-founded Blo hair salon in Parkwood. I have since partnered with Jenna Brugman and rebranded the salon … Hair2go.

As a stylist, my main interests are cutting, colouring and the more technical aspects of hairdressing.
When I’m not at work, I try and spend as much time as possible with my family. I also enjoy watching a good game of football or rugby.

Valarie Ngube AKA MAMA VAL

Reception and Store Manager

Originally from Cape Town, I started hairdressing in 2004 as an operator and in 2012 I moved to Johannesburg.

Hair2Go is all about family and growth. They have helped me grow by giving me extensive training in shampooing, colour application and blow drying, as well as other hair techniques. I have also been sent on numerous courses conducted by Loreal which included colour keys, loreal and the Kerastase product knowledge.

Hair2Go has seen great value in me by sending me on courses and training me over the years, that they have also promoted me to salon co-ordinator. My duties are running the salon, stock take, meeting client needs, and handling staff related issues.
I am also the brand ambassador for Kerastase after receiving a certificate in 2015, 14 years down the line, I’m still doing what I love doing best…HAIR

Julie Alpaugh

A bubbly and friendly personality that is hands on and always ready to assist in any situation.

Since graduating in 2015 she has gained much experience working in salons around the northern Johannesburg area. This has given her the opportunity to sharpen her skills and become a successful hair stylist.

Julie found her home with HAIR2GO in 2018 and looks forward to many more enjoyable years with her fellow colleagues.

Vuyo Nkuna

Edwardo Jose Nkuna but you can call me Vuyo. Born and bred in Mozambique, Vuyo decided to seek greener pastures and move to South Africa in 2002. Having passion for hair, being a Barber by trade for ethnic hair, he began working in hair salons. He was first introduced to Caucasian hair in 2015 as an Operator after completing the L’Oréal, / Kérastase Ambassador Training.

If you need relaxation, you know who to book your next head massage with! From shampooing to treatments and everything in between, Vuyo has you covered from shoulders to head.

Rose Ramatea

Rose was born in Kroonstad, Freestate and was a seamstress before working in the hair industry. She started out as a tea lady in a hair salon, but was always interested in what the stylists were doing. Rose would ask questions about how colour was mixed, treatments done etc.

She was then offered the sponsorship of going on the Kérastase Ambassador course to become an operator to become the Rosey we all know and love. Not only does she give one of the best head massages, but she also knows how to apply colour and treatments.
